Meet Google Buzz

Google Buzz lets you be social from Gmail. You can update your status there and share photos.

Who do you share Google Buzz with? Gmail contacts, for one, but you can also send your updates to Twitter as well. Your Gmail contacts can respond to your updates, using the @ symbol much like Twitter and now Facebook use. Your Gmail inbox will be used to push notifications to Buzz users.

Google Buzz was just launched on Feb 9, 2010 so it may take a few days before you get access. In the meantime, check out this vid to see how it works.

Do you think that Google Buzz can compete with Twitter and Facebook? Do you think that dominating yet another area of the Internet is a good idea for Google considering all the anti-trust scrutiny? I guess only time will tell. In the meantime, I will check it out …

Why I love Urban Dictionary

Urban Dictionary just become one of my fav sites. Keep reading and you’ll see why. In fact I am not alone, according to Yahoo’s Buzz Index, ‘urban dictionary’ was the #1 search query for February 4th, followed by IRS and Sandra Bullock. I am glad to see that Sandra is back on top…she kind of disappeared under her husbands tattoo’s for a few years there, but what about the Olympics people. Olympics phrases did not appear in the top 20. We still have about 10 days to go so hopefully things will turn around.

So anyways back to Urban Dictionary and why I think it’s way cooler than Webster’s dictionary. I did some Urbaning (to look up your own name in Urban Dictionary, either for definition or myspace/facebook usage) on www.urbandictionary.com and learnt the most fascinating thing about myself.
